EVP, audio, video, photos... If we caught it, you'll find the best of it here! Feel free to submit your own Conover findings!
We recorded this video on July 26, 2014. I was skeptical of the flashlight communication technique, but this impressed me!
One of our favorite videos! Watch as a Rockford ghost hunting team explores our building!
Ogle County Paranormal Video- In September 2012, Ogle County Paranormal visited Conover Square and created a video showing what they found. See camera interference, a strange mist in a store (best viewed on full screen), and hear mysterious footsteps!
I Saw the Whole Wall Shaking - This recording was made in the South hallway on April 5, 2014 around 10:30 PM. We had just conducted an EVP burst session, and we seemed to be noticing something happening at the end of the hallway. I left the recorder on a table and took the video camera down the hallway for a minute or two. I had just turned the camera off when we heard a very loud noise come from where I had just been sitting. One of the guests who was closer said "I saw the whole wall moving." She specifically noticed a picture attached to a shutter shaking. We checked the picture, and it was hanging with a metal clip, not a wire that could have slipped. Also, the shutter was securely attached to the wall. We couldn't find any plausible explanation for the noise. It sounds as if something is falling on a hard surface, but the table the recorder sat on had a tablecloth on it. Curiously, during the EVP session, we asked if someone could move some flowers. There were flowers in the picture that shook! The audio at the end of the clip has been "cleaned" to better hear our reactions.
Land on Head, NO! - On March 15, 2015 we hosted a private ghost hunt. Some time shortly after 10PM we conducted an EVP burst session in the North wing of the third floor. After two or three questions, I felt as though something lightly landed on my head. I commented to the others that I felt something, then turned on a light so someone could see if anything had fallen on me. It turned out that nothing was there so we continued the session. Upon review, we heard what sounds like "No" on the recording. We heard nothing at the time.
Audible Cry - This recording was made August 3, 2013. We heard what sounded like a cry while running the spirit box & EM pump. It seemed to come from above us & repeats as we react to hearing the first one. I was afraid the sound of the air conditioning & spirit box would have drowned it out, but here it is!
Hugging - This recording was made by The Midwest Ghost Society during their investigation of Conover Square on August 24, 2013. Here is their description:
This ultra strange clip is from a session in the museum. Kelly leaves her recorder on the end as the enter, and you will hear they aren't asking questions, as Dean starts to ask a question right after this, but they never acknowledge the sound, I have to think this is an EVP for that reason. I hear it saying something about hugging......lol.

Museum Wisp - This video is from February 1 at about 11:15 PM. We heard a large crash above us as we were on the first floor, so we grabbed flashlights and the full-spectrum camera & rushed to the museum! In about 15 minutes of video, this is the only thing that stands out. Some of you may be familiar with the legend of Hannah, the spirit of a 7 year-old girl who died in a nearby hospital nearly 100 years ago. She often makes her presence known in the museum, and she seems to like hearing us say "Goodbye" as we leave there for the night. On this particular night I was making one last attempt to get some response as I left the museum. The video reminded me that I noticed a chill before walking out; it was enough to make me walk back in & ask "Are you here?". It seems that the chill happened as I recorded an object moving toward the camera, then a "wisp" in the lower left corner of the doorway . It is not unusual for this camera to catch lens flares or other odd (but reproducible) flashes, but never one like this! Was it Hannah, saying goodbye?
Shave and a Haircut - This is the first audio evidence we ever captured! On October 6, 2012 we recorded this in the museum. The response knocks were not heard at the time of the recording.
